Pocket Home.
Competition, Honourable Mention
In the summer of 2022 we were involved in an architectural competition held by Bee Breeders in which we ultimately received an honourable mention. The competition consisted of designing an off-grid micro-home using a modular structure that did not exceed a floor area of 25m². We proceeded to design Pocket Home.
Utilising ‘off-the-shelf’ sizes and components, Pocket Home is formed of a 4 part repeated module, creating a constantly adaptable interior.
Each module is equipped with a two-panel, simple pocket door system, allowing the user flexibility to adapt their home throughout the day. Similarly repeated elements; a shower, a kitchen; a sofa-bed and a study/storage area, are added in a variety of finishes to complete a home.
Externally, roof modules, window and door components and cladding are customisable to create your own pocket home. It is suitable for easy transportation and self build and avoids the requirement for heavy machinery.
